Bent NOT Broken
Although you may feel bent out of shape,
you aren’t permanently broken.
Just because you had an injury once, it doesn’t
need to plague you for
the rest of your life.
Who I help:
I work with people of all ages to help resolve their aches and pains, improve their mobility, and enhance over-all health. This can include muscles and joints, post-surgical recovery (orthopaedic, c-sections, and other), and a variety of body systems such as chronic infections, digestion, and menstruation. Resolving lower back pain has become a particular focus of mine and rehab can include the application of both osteopathic and McGill Method principles.
My Story:
I grew up playing highly competitive sports and when I finished my University athletic career my body truly felt “broken”. As I worked through my quarter-life crisis trying to determine a career path I was introduced to the practice of manual osteopathy and never looked back.
What I love about osteopathy and what differentiates it from other therapeutic models is that it is extremely client centred and considers the person as whole. It is not pain focused, but solution oriented.
After studying the human body for the last 10+ years I have been able to combine my background in exercise science, movement, massage therapy, and osteopathy to get you back on your feet, feeling more like yourself, and back to the activities you love to do.
What to Expect
An initial assessment involves a thorough case history and physical assessment. Depending on your case history we may or may not commence treatment on your first appointment.
An overview of the treatment is below. Follow-up sessions are generally 50 minutes in length (where else do you get to spend an hour with your manual therapist?!?) and involve a re-assessment, treatment, and exercise rehabilitation/self-care. My suggested home-care will help you continue to move forward while your body adapts/integrates in between appointments!
