Frequently Asked Questions

Do you treat all ages: Yes, from babies to seniors!

Can you guarantee results? No, results cannot be guaranteed. I treat whatever dysfunction I assess within your body; however, no two therapists assess and treat exactly alike and for that reason you may require a referral to a different manual therapist. Your symptoms may also be due to factors other than physical dysfunction and therefore you may require a referral to another health care provider all together.

How quickly might I get better? Recovery depends on how many issues you have, how severe the issues are, and how long you’ve had them. The longer you have had an issue the longer it generally takes to dissipate. If osteopathy can help you, positive change is often experienced within 4-6 treatments.

How do I book an appointment with you? Click on the “Appointments” tab to take you to my “Jane” booking software. Jane will ask you to create a username and password. If you are booking multiple people, then you will have to create a separate username for each individual (although you can use the same password for everyone if you are trying to simplify)! You will then have access to my schedule and can book appointments accordingly. “Jane” is a safe and effective booking application commonly used by practitioners and complies with privacy and security requirements.

How many appointments should I book? Book your initial assessment as well as 3-4 follow-up appointments approximately 2 weeks apart. This will ensure initial continuity of care to get a jump start on your injury and we can determine further follow-up appointments needed when you arrive for your first session.

What type of appointment should I book? If this is your first time to the clinic, please book yourself an “Initial Assessment” for general inquiries or “Accelerated McGill Method Back Clinic” for back pain. The initial assessment will include a discussion of case history, global and specific assessment, informed consent, and proposed treatment plan. As time permits, treatment will commence.

How long of an appointment should I book? Follow-up appointments can be booked for 25 minutes (children) or 50 minutes (adults). These appointments will include a brief discussion, re-assessment, treatment, and homecare.

What do I bring to my appointment? Treatment may involve parts of the body near and far to your primary area of concern – please dress accordingly (comfy/stretchy clothes). For men, a loose pair of athletic shorts or sweatpants work well. For women, athletic shorts/pants/leggings and a loose t-shirt or tank top will work well!

Do you have a cancellation policy? Yes, if you need to cancel an appointment please do so via my online booking system as soon as possible. If you are cancelling with less than 24 hours’ notice please call or email the clini directly. If there is less than 24 hours’ notice or a missed appointment without any notice, you will be charged a cancellation fee.

When is payment due? Payment is due at the end of each appointment.

What types of payment do you accept? Credit card, cash, or cheque. If you want to use debit, e-transfer can be arranged.

Do you direct bill? At this point in time, direct billing is not provided. You will be given a receipt containing all the necessary information required for reimbursement should you have extended health coverage for this therapy.
